Description

At Wortspiele, Brooklyn, children ages 2 to 8 who already have a basic grasp of German in the home can come to Christine’s class to sing songs, have informal discussions, play games, and write and listen to stories in German. This class is taught in the Montessori method, so there is a focus on writing and sounds—kids will write words as they hear them (called Inventive Spelling), for instance. The class structure is fairly flexible; kids can rest from activities if they want but they must participate in group lessons (about 15 minutes). The class size is small enough at 10 and each class is for two hours.
