From Darling Wiki

It started like anything else. A request, does anyone know a good guitar teacher? After much emailing and word of mouth wisdom we found someone. Then it was a good place for kids to learn martial arts and on and on. This information was out there somewhere, in people's heads, on a flyer, on a local website. But we wanted to collect all of it and keep it active and current. So the only way to do that was to "crowdsource" it as the saying goes and ask every parent we knew to contribute just a little bit. Maybe an article or a comment or an edit.

So with limited technical prowess we began. The darling came from the parenting logo of DD (darling daughter) and DS (darling son), certainly tongue in cheek references. We started in April 2008 in beautiful Brooklyn, NY and have enlisted friends and hacked our way this far. Our goal is to enlist every parent who has some nugget of wisdom and ask them to share it, kind of like a big community project.
